Why A Dog, and Why Now?

Like most people, I’ve always known about dogs and thought about what it would be like to have one in my home. Those great television commercials, where the dog is truly the person’s best friend, have always caught me off guard and made me think about the fact that my own best friend hadn’t come along yet. I’ll admit it, when I finally got to a place in my life where I could have a dog where I lived, I was pretty excited to be able to find one.

I knew that there were lots of dogs out there, some purebred and some mutts, who all needed a home. I just didn’t know where to start, finding that perfect companion for me. I also knew that there was a lot to learn about dogs, and even after I picked out the perfect one, I would need to do a lot of research so that I knew how to take care of him or her in the right way. It’s important to know as much as you can about dogs before you start isn’t it? I always thought so anyway. Picking that perfect dog is tough, and it can take a lot of time. But even after you are finished doing that, there’s still a lot to learn and keep track of.

A blog is great for me because I can write all about the best ways to choose that perfect dog. Hopefully then someone can read about all of the things that I did, and all of the stuff that I learned, and maybe I can help someone, or lots of people, figure out what dog is perfect for them, and learn how to choose it for themselves. And don’t forget about all of that other stuff – training the dog and learning how to take care of him and what to feed him. That’s all important stuff too, and I really learned a lot while I was doing my research. I want to be able to share that information with as many people as I can, so that everyone can get a dog and learn how to care for him.

The main reason I’m writing, though, is just that I love my dog so much, and have enjoyed having him in my life more than I could possibly think. That’s what I really want to share with everyone – how wonderful it can be to have a dog in your life, and how rewarding it is to see him grow up and become your true best friend and perfect companion. There are lots of reasons you might want to have a dog, but underneath, you should feel that love for him, and want to bring him into your life so that you can help him have the best life possible. That’s really what raising a dog is all about, and that’s what I want to share with everyone.
